Hotel Albrechtshof is only a two-minute walk away from the river Spree and the so-called Schiffbauerdamm. There used to be a busy shipbuilding industry but nowadays many cafés and restaurants are lining up. Hotel Albrechtshof is located on Albrechtstraße, where you will find a lot of nice little shops and cafés, too. At the Northern end of the street, there is a monumental Reichstag bunker, where you can visit a very impressive collection of contemporary art, the Berlin Boros Collection.

Furthermore, there are many other cultural institutions within this quarter of Berlin: the "Schiffbauerdamm Theater" was built in a neo-baroque style. Today, the renowned Berlin Ensemble is presenting important pieces of world literature there. Close to the Western end of the Schiffbauerdamm, the artist Ben Wagin built the "Parliament of Trees", a memorial for the death victims of the Berlin Wall.

Hotel Albrechtshof is also a good starting point for exploring the city by means of public transport. Berlin Friedrichstraße station is one of the central stations in the city. You will quickly and easily get to the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and many other tourist attractions.

Our most famous guest, incidentally, was the US civil rights activist Martin Luther King, who spoke in 1964 about "problems of ecclesiastical life in the divided city". Since 2010, there is a memorial note near the entrance of our hotel which reminds of his only visit to Berlin.
